Yesterday is 22nd dec. It is also known as dong zi.
Somehow ppl mention i have a very traditional family. hmmm.. i can say tat im born in such custom n culture. I accept this since long ago.
Ppl are amazed that we celebrate dong zi festival. As wat my parents mention, this is a day where this is 1st day of starting to be spring according to chinese custom. This is a day where the daytime is the longest of all n the nightime is longer. Also it is a day bigger than cny. Reunion dinner n praying our ancestors are a must in our family culture on such a particular day.
I felt nothing is wrong when i have to go thr all these customs. To my belief, these are extra knowledge n experiences i gain. It will be a help in future when dealing with elders. Though it is abit troublesome, as long as i felt we can sit down together to have a dinner together to strengthen our bond, it deserved all these troubles.
I always belief tat this is a day which help to strengthening the bonding. In past when i was young, i was playing the flour to make tangyuan for the dessert. Though they are not nicely made, it does help to closer up the bonding with mum tat time. In future, i shall do the same with my kids.
Im a person who is ok if anyone dun wan to celebrate such festivals. Im flex. As long as anyone will not destroy the bonding or the harmony of a family, it is ok if any member dun wan to celebrate. Afterall this is option in ppl's life.
